Legendary Louisiana band LeRoux have a long and storied history. The band dates back to 1977 when the original members were backing up Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown as The Levee Band. They also played their own gigs as The Jeff Pollard Band. I was a music loving high school student who used to "borrow" my brother's ID in order to sneak into their shows. By 1978 the band had scored a record contract and changed their name to Louisiana's LeRoux. Over the course of six years the band scored five regional and national hits including "New Orleans Ladies", "Addicted", "Nobody Said it Was Easy", "Last Safe Place on Earth", and the mega regional hit "Carrie's Gone". In 1984 the bands major label days came to an end, but the band reformed the following year and have continued ever since. A greatest hits compilation put LeRoux back on the charts in 1996 and paved the way for a new album in 2000 ("Ain't Nothin' But a Gris Gris"). Band members have gone on to great success throughout the music industry. Tony Haseldon became a hit songwriter in Nashville. Bobby Kimball went on to sing with Toto. Leon Medica became an in-demand Nashville producer and publisher. Jim Odom is now President of PreSonus Audio, an international manufacturing company in the recording and sound industry. The band lives on, playing festivals and large venues. LeRoux's appearance at the Red Dragon is a special, intimate performance. This show will sell out.....probably quite quickly. I'm guessing few (if any) have had the experience of a LeRoux concert from the comfort of a room like the Red Dragon!
